Prunus lusitanica 'Angustifolia' PORTUGESE LAURIER
Prunus lusitanica "angustifolia" is een wintergroene struik, boom (HT / DT) of solitair met een compacte dichtvertakte, opgaande vorm. Deze variëteit groeit compacter en heeft een kleiner blad dan de Prunus lusitanica. Hij bloeit in mei en juni met kleine witte, geurende bloempjes in tot 15cm grote trossen en heeft smalle, glanzende, ovale, getande, donkergroene bladeren. Hij prefereert een standplaats in de halfschaduw of zon, doet het goed in vrijwel iedere grondsoort. Wanneer hij gebruikt wordt als haag zal de bloei minder aanwezig zijn door het scheren.
